We have been keeping mum about DFA’s recent 12″ release from Black Van (Kris Menace + Kowesix) for a bit, even though they are on our ‘heavy rotation’ column on the right of this page. (Subtle, and sly)

We all know what happened the last time these 2 names were mentioned in the same breath.

We were left in awe of the beauty in that track by the Friendly Fires.

PART 2.

We have been gone for a while.

we will try to make up for lost time with these.

Friendly Fires seem to be real chummy with Lykke Li, with photos of them together popping up all over.

That isn’t important though, unless they are sexing up each others brains.

They decided that they should cover Lykke’s song and make the world want more of them.

A bloody bloody good cover emerged.

MORE Friendly Fires

These boys known as Friendly Fires met in school and formed a band at a fine young age of 14.

Back then, they used to be a post-hardcore outfit.

They have grown and matured over the years, progressing to the sounds of today..which is essentially a good mix of everything.

They are inspired by pop, lush shoegaze melodies, disco house and dance.
