KASPER BJORKE // HEAVEN

Music | Johnny | August 2, 2010

Kasper Bjørke is the Danish multi-talent (we have featured him a few times before) behind this amazing release. Heaven’, originally done by the Rolling Stones is such a touching, haunting song that Mr. Bjørke has re-interpreted and made into his own where our senses be praised…

This release includes remixes from Prins Thomas, Nicolas Jaar and Muzzle Flash. If that doesn’t tempt you enough i do not know what will.

Prins Thomas never fails to live up to our expectations of him and he presents us with a Diskomiks’ version, which is a 9 minute dream with a re-arrangement that will seriously transcend time.  Drift away with its lazy vocals to ensure deep effect. Muzzle Flash’s version is a disco house number meant for the dancefloors, but it manages to retain the soul of the track at the same time.

Nicolas Jaar is another remixer we have been taking note of late especially with his amazing take on Ellen Allien’s “Flashy Flashy”, which took us to another dimension. He contributes his remix of  Heaven’ which has some airy, hazy sounds to make the track come alive as it floats in your head.

Watch Heaven being perfectly crafted into the classic film Performance to get where the impetus for this release really came from..
