FRENCH HORN REBELLION GET EPIC

Music | jon.ramsay | August 19, 2010

When we listen to the Epic Edit of French Horn Rebellion’s ‘Brasilia Girl‘, we imagine an alternate disco version of Omar Sharif’s deliciously sloooow camel-back entry in ‘Lawrence of Arabia‘…

The heat-haze and all that remains unchanged, but instead of slowly dismounting the camel and getting into a chippy little exchange with Peter O’Toole, he promptly whips out a keytar and bangs out some tasty synth chords.

That might sound strange, but we’re strange people and this is a strange track. Strange as in massively fantastic (the track that is, not us). The two Wisconsin-born, newly London-based brothers that comprise French Horn Rebellion have been tipped for big things by pretty much everyone, but this is the first track that has really grabbed our attention – a sprawling, edgy synth-pop wig-out that isn’t afraid to get a little dark and mess with the ouija board.

What else? They conduct what look like riotous live shows in their underwear (google image search), they’re currently trying to finish up a Miami Horror remix and they got their name from one of them actually playing a french horn properly and being quite good. Check out the MySpace here, Facebook here, Twitter here and nab the track below!
