THE NATIONAL X WE PLANTS ARE HAPPY PLANTS

We Plants Are Happy Plants (AKA Peter Bergmann) first came to our attention last year with an eponymous track – a soaring synthfest that clearly graduated from the Mille/Fear of Tigers/Anoraak school of grandiose harmonics. Now the elusive Hungarian is back with a tidy unofficial remix of American rockers The National.

We like it when remixers are ambitious in what they do, selecting unlikely source material and really running with it. Bergmann clearly saw dancefloor potential lurking beneath the sombre exterior, and has pulled a neat trick here by jacking the beats and harnessing the emotional intensity of the original.
