DISCOTEXAS: FORBIDDEN CUTS VOL. 1

It all happened for the first time in a club night and Discotexas the collective was formed with the will to share a love for music, artwork, design, production and performance. Projects such as Moullinex, Xinobi, Rockets and many more were brought together.

Having established a monthly event at the one and only Club Lux (Lisbon) called Discotexas Titan Thursdays (DTTT), they were still not satisfied.

The collective still had a passion to expand Discotexas to a label. They felt that there is nothing more accomplishing than being able to release and share the music they do. (we agree whole heartedly) Couple this with the fact that the music they make is rich in aesthetic relevance and Discotexas the label became more than just a synergy of ideas.

They have something more tangible than before and have just released their first EP, The Forbidden Cuts Vol. 1, with upcoming releases by Justin Faust, SymbolOne, Moullinex and Rockets, among others.

We wanna tell everyone about them as they represent the belief that good music, can, should and will exist in a time where the majors are making money from utter rubbish. We support this label and with the 3 tracks given away for free at a low bitrate, we have made a purchase for the entire EP just so we can play them tracks.

The video below showcases Moullinex live at the Gomma Supershow in november last year. Exceptional quality for both the video and track, sweet sweet sweeeeet.
