Mayer Hawthorne has such a smooth, soulful voice, and it is no surprise given that he counts Isaac Hayes, Leroy Hutson, Mike Terry, and Barry White among his influences.

Few expect such heartfelt sentiment to come from a ‘29-year-old white kid’ from Ann Arbor, including the owner of the label he is under, who couldn’t believe his songs were new songs and that he played all the instruments.

But his crooning has grabbed the world’s attention and he refuses to call his music a retro motown revival, calling it new soul instead.

A nice fresh slap in the face of the music world, and we like it.

Naturally, Classixx who are one of the best remixers around should decide to work their touch on such velvet goodness.

It is not their usual fare, but its one of those tracks that might be able to help you charm any girl.
