BAND TO WATCH: CHEW LIPS

CHEW LIPS have been on our lips for a while now and it only seems natural we feature them as a band to watch.

Having gone through their demos and EPs again and again, they seem to have really struck a chord with us.At the end of 2008, Chew Lips were still unsigned and no label wanted to pick them up.. YET.
They claimed they were waiting for the right record deal anyway.

Fast forward a few months later and what do we have here? They are on Kitsune Compilation 7 and have the world’s attention..all without a full length album released yet.

We do not like to mention bands just because they are on Kitsune or some tried and tested indie label. We still remain picky and promote only the bands we really really like. So what do we have here?

Disco seems to be flashing shiny balls in our face all over again, with pop sensibility written all over these new bands.
It is a enjoyable and active scene these days, from Fan Death and La Roux dominating the disco-electro-dance-pop renaissance. But there is definitely space for Chew Lips to work its way into the public’s hearts.

It helps that they have Tigs (lead singer) has critically acclaimed vocals which packs a real good punch with comparisons to the likes of Beth Ditto and Karen O.

Watch out for them. (we shall refrain from any corny punch lines..its so tempting).
