Karin Dreijer Andersson have always been making mesmerizing music, whether in the band Honey Is Cool previously, or part of The Knife with her brother.
While The Knife is on a hiatus, she decides to go totally solo under the project name Fever Ray....and mesmerizing as an adjective just doesn’t cut it anymore.
If you were even the slightest bit an electronic fan, Silent Shout by The Knife was pulsating and breathtaking.
Now in our opinion, Karin does not abide by the fads of the fickle music world, she does what she does and always stuns the world. Her idea of music is at times not human; we never thought that any normal being would be capable of such sounds. If you are looking for some electronic sounds like The Knife in this solo release from her, look elsewhere, but if you are looking for an album which will provide a totally alternative experience altogether, this is it.
No strong electronic beats to bob to, but eerie, atmospheric sounds are entirely present to envelop the listener. Some might say it is too weird and haunting as an album, but she is barely just a musician. With her evocative tones, this subtle album actually strikes the listener, no matter how delicate it sounds. There are not many highs and lows to this album, but each track stands out on its own, creating different moods each time.
This album is a real treat so take your time with it, and it will thrust you into faraway places of sombre tones.

I think this album is absolutely stunning. So rare is it that you can find a piece of music that becomes increasingly hard to make sense of… rarer still is a piece of music that does that, and sounds better and better the more you listen to it.
