Thieves Like Us is a musical vehicle — an elegant starship, pointed straight to the heart of the listener. They align themselves musically with Europe, and consider Paris their home (although none of them are French).
Many have tried to define their sound, and while they have a variety of diverse influences, they consider themselves a pop band.
Having heard Play Music, we too do not wish to define them either. It isn’t easy to do that in the first place, with each track resulting in a different experience altogether.

It is littered with disco vibes, lovely electronica and even catchy melodies, clearly displaying the emotional depth of their songs.
Their first album Play Music was written, recorded and mixed in the cities of New York, Berlin, Vienna, London, Rio De Janeiro and Stockholm. They claim the album is mostly about love gone wrong (Drugs In My Body, Lady) and identity problems(Program of The First Part, Headlong Into Night).
But while we know that the electronic world fell hard for “Drugs In My Body” sometime back, we have fallen harder with the diversity and unique sounds of this wonderful band.
Play Music will be released on LP on 10/3 which is TODAY, and the CD on the April 7th.
Find it at any good record store.
