Paul has been in the news alot recently.
This is mainly due to the insane fact that he sold out a one-off gig at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in 7 seconds.
The gig is held at a location with only 4,000 seats. That equates to selling 600 seats per second…
The Hard Rock Hotel booked the former Beatle, 66, for the gig to debut its new 60-million-dollar music venue, called the Joint.
Accroding to Paul Davis, vice president of entertainment at the Hard Rock, “The reason Paul McCartney took this gig is that he wanted a down and dirty, real old-fashioned rock show with minimal seating,” and that “He wants to come out and look at the crowd and feel the entire crowd staring at him – a real rock show with a real rock ‘n’ roll feel to it.”
What a load of irrelevant gibberish.
The other thing that has kept Paul McCartney in the news lately, has to do with the Beatles.
Now we’re talking.
Paul has confirmed that the mythical Beatles song “Carnival Of Light” actually exists, and at the same time suggesting that it may be released soon.
The experimental 14 minute long song was recorded in 1967 for an electronic music festival, but never released.
According to Paul himself, “The time has come for it to get its moment… I like it because it’s The Beatles free, going off piste.”
He also states that the Beatles didn’t release the track when they recorded it in 1967 because its avant-garde experimentation, described as inspired by musique concrète composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, was too adventurous for mainstream audiences at the time.
McCartney pushed for the song to be included on The Beatles ‘Anthology‘ releases in the mid-’90s, but it was rejected by the rest of the band.
Paul McCartney also happens to be headlining the first day of the Coachella Festival.
YUM.
