[New Single] Phoenix – 1901

Phoenix are a band that has roots in all the right places.

They also have history.

Phoenix was fully formed when Laurent Brancowitz permanently joined the band after leaving the one time band Darlin’ he formed with 2 regular guys Thomas and Guy-Manuel.

The 2 regular guys eventually became Daft Punk.

Band member Thomas Mars’ partner is Sofia Coppola, daughter of Francis Ford Coppola aka The Godfather.

We just wanted to have some fun with all these trivia but they don’t even begin to describe the bands lovely music.

We loved their previous albums, with “If I Ever Feel Better” & “Too Young”, from their first album in 2000 still fresh in our head. No genre on their myspace, but we all know their version of pop, rock, electronic and funk is bloody addictive.

They have an album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix‘ to be released May 25th worldwide, and have a spanking new single “1901″ to tantalise us all.

It has a much stronger electronic touch to it but we love it to bits already.

The year seems so bright in such dark times.
