MGMT to sue Sarkozy over copyright?

Music | Johnny | February 28, 2009

It has been reported that MGMT is demanding compensation from the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy for the use of their track “Kids” at a national congress of his union, and in 2 online videos.

The union’s PR firm has admitted using the track without permission, claiming it is an unintentional mistake and offered the band € 1 (euro) in symbolic damages for copyright infringement.

REALLY? €1 ?

MGMT’s lawyer, who is French, rejected the offer saying it was “insulting” and demanded full compensation in financial terms or they would intend to sue the party.

We on the other hand, would like to share a damn good mash up of  David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust” & MGMT’s “Kids”.
We don’t like to give out mashes here, but this is really fun and pretty awesome.

The track is called “Stardust Kids” and there are many more “Ziggy Stardust” remixed tracks right HERE. From Bob Marley to The Supremes and Deep Purple, take your pick and enjoy.
